So by now you might be wondering, what is up with that blue butterfly? It’s pretty but what does this have to do with starting a website? Well the short answer is “everything”. The long answer will take us back to the jungles of Riviera Maya Mexico where I first encountered the Blue Morpho. I remember the first time I saw one my jaw nearly hit the floor. I had never seen anything like it! I have spent many years of my life documenting large mammals such as killer whales and humpback whales and they too make my jaw hit the floor but in a different way. When I first caught a glimpse of the metallic blue light I thought I was in a dream.
When I first encountered the Blue Morpho (2006) I was not yet fully prepared for how it was going to change my life. It started subtly then took on some major momentum. I spent 4 years living in the region and soon the presence of the butterfly took over my life. During that time, I also encountered some of the most mysterious things in my life including healing, physical fitness and creative evolutions. I found others who like myself were touched by the Blue Morpho encounter and together as a group we really learned how to fly. As with everything in life, things come to an end. I moved back to Canada as I fell in love with a Canadian man who you will find on the about page of this website. Before we moved back to the west coast of Canada, Markus also encountered the Blue Morpho in Mexico and was touched and changed. By the time we settled back on the coast it was clear there was no going back.
I have learned so much through encountering the butterfly, more than I can really get into in one blog post but it has propelled me in my goal setting and creativity. I also realized that like the butterfly who undergoes 4 major stages in life so does the creative process and in this case it is the same with a website. In my Start Up power point presentation (given to clients and in seminars) I have outlined the stages of getting online in 4 stages; 1. the egg, 2. the caterpillar, 3. the chrysalis and 4. the butterfly. I think it’s fair to say that we can all find ourselves relating to a stage of the butterfly in our lives. We can use this as a mantra for our own growth and evolution and helps us to realize that everything changes and nothing stays the same. It’s the ultimate lesson of being in the now, letting go and impermanence. This is applied to everything including a website. We will carry this knowledge with us and share it with our clients so they may also learn and grow while coping with the never-ending change that life brings. We feel we bring a unique story and perspective and are excited to share it with others.
I feel so grateful to have had my life touched by the Blue Morpho butterfly. I have embedded the presence of this butterfly into this project so that it too may help you to fly. The perched image of a blue butterfly, just emerged from a chrysalis symbolizes the start up state. The state where you are just about ready to push-off from the ground and be carried into space. In this case cyber space. May the butterfly be with you, and we will be sure of it if under our guidance.
